AP Govt. sign MoU with NTPC for New Solar Project

The state government of Andhra Pradesh (AP) will soon be entering into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the NTPC for setting up a mega solar power unit of 1,000 MW capacity. According to state’s Information & Public Relations Minister, Palle Raghunatha Reddy, the solar project is planned to be built at Ananthapur. He said, that the state government is also in the process of setting up 1,500 MW solar projects in Kadapa and Kurnool districts. The setting up of three mega solar projects of 2,500 MW capacity will help AP become a power surplus state.
